Our story
SECCCA brings South East Melbourne’s councils together to respond to climate change at a regional scale, using shared evidence and resources. Our work focuses on protecting communities, reducing carbon emissions and building resilience across the region.
Who we are
Established in 2004, SECCCA coordinates local government action on climate change across South East Melbourne. For over 20 years, SECCCA has helped member councils respond faster and more effectively to climate risks by sharing resources, expertise and costs.

SECCCA is one of Victoria’s regional Greenhouse Alliances, which together include 69 of the state’s 79 councils. Alliance membership gives councils cost savings, added capacity, collaboration on shared priorities and a stronger voice in advocacy.
